The Short-term Prognosis of Patients with Q-wave Infarct and ST-T Infarct

Abstract
During their hospital stay, patients with ST-T Infarct had similar incidence of congestive
heart failure, hypotension, shock and pericarditis to that of patients with Q-wave Infarct. The pattern and incidence of rhythm disturbances was similar also.
The mean peak level of serum cardiac enzymes was compared, but there was no significant differences.
Mortality was high in patients with ST-T Infarction, but statistical significance was absent also.
In conclusion, there was no difference in short-term prognosis between patients with Q-wave Infarct and patients with ST-T Infarct.
Further study is needed for confirmation of above findings and long-term prognosis.
